San Joaquin Valley Residents Are Now Eligible For Landscaping Power Tool Rebates
Who is eligible for the rebates?
If you are looking to replace or purchase lawn care equipment, the Clean Green Yard Machines Residential Rebate Program may be of benefit to you. This program offers two options for rebates to San Joaquin Valley residents when they replace fuel-powered equipment with new electric power equipment. This includes equipment such as lawnmowers, edgers, trimmers, chainsaws, and pole saws. This offer is available to both residents and businesses residing in the San Joaquin Valley. Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Options For Homeowners
The first option requires the purchase of a new electric lawnmower, and the old fuel-powered mower must be destroyed to be eligible for the rebate. Riding lawnmowers are not eligible for this option. Applicants are responsible for at least 50% of the purchase price. Residents of the selected AB617 communities are eligible for a 100% rebate on lawnmowers priced at $500 or less. These AB617 communities include Shafter City and the south-central Fresno area. After purchasing a new lawnmower, the old lawnmower must be taken to a participating dismantler for inspection, and a destruction verification form will be provided. Once the equipment has been properly destroyed, applicants must fill out a rebate application within 30 calendar days from the purchase date to provide contact information and receipts.
The second option allows for the purchase of new lawn care equipment without having to destroy any old equipment. Eligible equipment includes lawnmowers, edgers, trimmers, chainsaws, and pole saws. Leafblowers are not eligible. Applicants are responsible for at least 50% of the purchase price. The rebates are based on the purchase price of one electric power tool with one power unit, one battery, and one charger. Rebate applications must be submitted with a copy of the receipt to receive the rebate.
For residents, the eligible rebate amount is based on the purchase price of the power tool. This does not include other charges such as taxes, fees, and delivery charges. For more information on rebate amounts and eligibility, please review the residential program guidelines.
Options For Businesses
Commercial vouchers are also available to landscaping businesses, such as public agencies and private entities that reside in the San Joaquin Valley. Eligible entities include school districts, businesses, and non-profit organizations that offer large-scale landscaping services in-house. Funding is limited to $25,000 per applicant annually. Buyers must be approved to receive vouchers before purchasing new equipment. The application can be found on the Clean Green Yard Machines commercial page. Once the vouchers are approved, the new equipment can be purchased, and the old equipment must be taken to a participating dismantler. Eligible equipment includes edgers, trimmers, chainsaws, pole saws, leaf blowers, vacuums, walk-behind mowers, ride-on mowers, stand-ride mowers, and additional chargers and batteries.
