Mylar film is a type of reflective and durable polyester material. You’ve probably seen Mylar before; think about helium balloons—they’re made from Mylar film too. Mylar can provide significant advantages for growing fruit in a variety of agricultural settings. For optimizing fruit yields, its unique features make it a top choice among farmers.

By reflecting and dispersing light onto fruit orchards, mylar film enhances the overall light intensity of the growing environment. When applied to fruit orchards, it ensures that a larger portion of the available sunlight goes through the lower portions of the plant canopy. Increased intensity of sunlight encourages plants to undergo photosynthesis more successfully, resulting in more energy production and better fruit development.

Overall, the metallized reflecting finish of Mylar film enhances light energy while also distributing it more evenly to crops. This encourages the differentiation of flower buds and promotes fruit coloring. As a result, the sugar content and weight of the fruits increase significantly, resulting in fruits that are both larger and sweeter.
